Matthew Sheehan (Clerk)

I was born and grew up in Cleobury Mortimer with my family and cousins over 50 years ago, attending Lacon Childe School from 1970 to 1975, after which I attended Kidderminster College for a year.
At the age of 19 I joined the Army as a mechanic in the REME where I served 9 years and reached the rank of Corporal. After the Army I spent a few years in Peterborough as a mechanic before returning to the area living in Ludlow with my mother.
After that I lived 16 years on Clee Hill before returning to live in Cleobury Mortimer with my father after my mother died. I now share a new home in Cleobury with my wife Kaz who supports and works with me.
I have 2 grown up daughters from my previous marriage in Peterborough and a grown up step son from my ex partner on Clee Hill. I designed a dart stand which is produced by a major darts company and I supply all the top Dart players with their merchandise and play a lot of darts myself.
I have taken on the role of Clerk as I have deep connections with Cleobury seeing the changes over the last 50 years and will do all I can for the benefits of Cleobury Mortimer and its residence.

Sean Thorogood (Chair)

I have lived in Cleobury Mortimer since 2005. Prior to this, I lived in Kinlet for eleven years. I am married to Dawn and have a grown up daughter and son who were both educated at Lacon Childe school.
My career started in 1981 working within the family Engineering Distribution business based in Kidderminster (CBS Rotary Power Motion Ltd). I became Managing Director in 1995 and with the help and support of my brothers we expanded the business to a 9 branch, £7 Million sales operation, servicing the Midlands and South Wales .
In 1998 CBS was asked to become a member of IADA which was a £55 million sales turnover national alliance of independent authorised distributors, consisting of 20 independent companies across the UK. In 2006 I was asked to become the chairman of the group.
In 2007 CBS was approached by our largest competitor who were keen to acquire the business, which we subsequently sold. I remained with the new company to integrate staff up until December 2009. I am currently developing a business within the motor sport industry.
I became a Parish Councillor in June 2010 and am very pleased to be part of the team. My aims and objectives as a councillor are to help the community and add value where possible.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any parish issues that you would like to discuss.
